Decoding a 67 GMC
Hey guys, I went out to look to see what kind of shape my late father n laws 67 was in this morning. It is in worse shape than I had initially though. Cab corners, rockers, floor, inside kick panel and doors. I couldn't get a real good look as it has stuff piled up against it. Anyway I was able to squeeze in along the passenger side to get to the door. I was able to get the vin but unfortunately the SPID is long gone. Here is what I come up with. VIN# CM3600VPC
which I believe breaks down to 2wd conventional cab, V6, 1 ton, 133" wheelbase, cab&chassis, Pontiac plant, 1967. I am wondering since this is a cab & chassis with the 133"wb does that mean the frame is the same as a long horn or is it different. I wasn't able to get back far enough to look at the tail end of the frame. If I have had the thought that if I don't find what I am looking for to possibly get this truck and try to find a cab but not really wanting to go down that road if I can keep from it.

Re: Decoding a 67 GMC
I think it's been 20 years since the last time it was on the road. The mice have definitely made it their home. Due to all the stuff stacked against it I couldn't get a good look at it. My father n law worked this truck for a lot of years.

Re: Decoding a 67 GMC
I get such a rush out of bringing an original field/barn pickup just like that back to life. I love cleaning and detailing every inch of it, even the rat infested areas. It’s definitely a sickness… lol I look at your picture and see nothing except potential.

Re: Decoding a 67 GMC
Not sure if I am going to try to do anything with it or not. I will have to think about it and will still have to go through my wife's family to see about buying the truck or whatever if neither of my brother n laws want it. It is not in near as nice of shape as the two that you posted pics of. I had my head stuck in the cab and was looking down at the ground through the floor and cab corners in places. It is still in good enough shape to be able to use though. It would have to have tires, brake work and get the engine back up and running.
