Relative to other aftermarket seat options, TMI's stuff is generally pretty "affordable". I dont love the diamond pattern, but the fact that they've released anything Suburban specific is a step in the right direction. It also hopefully means more of their product line will be available in the future.

I've dealt with them before and found their customer service to be excellent and they can usually accommodate custom orders.

Those seats aren’t my style either but it is nice to see some attention given to the suburban. With custom stuff especially you will never make everyone happy or appeal to everyone’s taste.

agreed completely. some of the other stuff from TMI is much more traditional looking and less "Pro Touring". I would imagine it won't be long before the Suburban stuff is available in all of their trim options.

I have used TMI for years on Mustangs and VWs. I have had good luck for the most part on quality. Im not a huge fan of their Mustang sport seats because it’s not my style but I do like that they have a stocking looking design with bolstered seats for those that like that look. On a VW forum that I’m on a site member was trying to get a 1 year only door panel made correctly( TMI was selling a generic panel for Multiple year Type 3s) There was an employee from TMI who joined the site and he worked with the site member to get the correct number of heat seams and correctly spaced. I was impressed with their willingness to work with their customers to improve their product.

Nice looking stuff! It looks as if the new 2nd row seat is the short style that could be used as a 3rd row seat too. Nic see to see an aftermarket 2nd row come to market.

TMI makes good stuff. I got a dash pad from them for my 67 pickup.

How was the quality of the dash pad? I've been thinking of using them for the one in my Suburban. I like the way the ends turn down.

Quality is great, I have had this in my truck a few years and still looks just as nice. It took sometime to get. I also had to slightly open the holes in the dash for the studs.

Hi guys. I don't think i have posted here since probably 2017 (about the time my project stalled out, lol). Anyway, I just bought this 68 burb with the TMI interior in it. So far, the compliments and comments have been overwhelming as it relates to the interior. Quality and design are great. I dont see the seats on the site for sale, but they are cool. Low back make it feel open and roomy. All 3 sets slide and recline. The 3rd seat is actually rear facing. If anyone has questions, lmk.

Man...that is one nice interior!!! I'll be looking for more pictures...especially interested in the headliner...if that was part of the package??? The rear facing seat is a very cool touch! I actually played around with that idea one day while taking my original "shorties" out to make room for a little "sound and heat" barrier project I'm currently working on...but with the factory rear A/C, I had to bend over a lot to avoid contact with my head. I guess it would work if I wanted to take my grandkids out for a "nostalgic ride". Also interested to know if seatbelts gave you any issues? Sorry for all the questions Gug...really just wanted to say what an excellent interior you ended up with!

yes the rear facing back is cool. As I am in AZ and this is not an AC truck that is my first big project. I am attempting to determine if a rear unit is necessary. am looking at VA, saw some reference that the new units with monster condenser may be sufficient (?). otherwise i may have to contend with what you are talking about with a unit back overhead. Was looking at the Slimline from VA. No comment on the seatbelts as i did not do that part of the project. I traded from a full project to a running project as I wanted to enjoy this with the kids before they move out into the world...5 years left and the last 5 years went REALLY fast...

@cg agreed, these probably aren't the colors I would have chosen, but I am a sucker for diamond stitch.

And no they did not do a headliner. The absence of an industry HL continues...in a pinch to get this to SEMA, Aces EFI (who i bought it from) put a Mexican blanket HL in. Again, not what i would have done, but it gets a lot of attention and is kind of fun. As i figure out the AC and stereo set up, i imagine that may impact the HL a bit, so we shall see what becomes of it.

Smart move Gug...getting a really nice looking "running project" so that you can enjoy it with the kids is the right focus as far as I'm concerned! That is exactly why I have been so hesitant to hand the Beach-Burban over to anyone for a "complete" redo...I just love to drive it, especially when loaded up with the grandkids (and as they are almost 12, 10 and 10...my time is running out too!).

I think your exterior paint looks great...and although the "mexican blanket" headliner goes well with your outside look, it would probably look more at home with my interior...although I'm going a more subdued route for my headliner (I'll attach some pictures that I've posted before so you know what I'm taking about). I'm getting close to installing the headliner and I'll make my own "Progress Report" post when it's in...I hope you will do the same!
