I am looking for an Alternator for my truck, but have a few questions. Please Help;
How many amps did the original alternator put out? Why would you need one that puts out more amps?

The alt that was in my truck was 35 amp. (just had it tested and found out it was shot) and I just bought a 55 amp (Bosch). The reason for getting a higher amp altenator is if you start to add more elec. stuff that will draw (or use) more current, as in stereo amplifiers, DVD player, ect. your altenator will be able to supply enough power for all your elec upgrades. Hope this helps, Doug

I put in a 100 amp internally regulated alternator. Much more reliable (internally regulated). Take a look at getting one.
