Back in the game with my 85 sb!

Picked this up last weekend, doing a brake rebuild first and fixing whatever the PO did before I got it. It had been dropped with a flip kit and a cnotch that was welded in for the rear and it appears the front was done with drop springs only. Picked up some 8 inch rallys today that I will get powdercoated before putting some new tires on them.

Cool! That thing is so ready for someone to get it squared away. Glad you snagged it and in to watch.

Nice looking truck. Do you know what those seats came out of?

I'm not sure, but I will be taking them out to see what the PO used to bolt them down. Drivers side is missing a bolt lol.

M brake parts came this week and the last package arrive today. Also ordered some beaut rings for the rallys I picked up.

Someone said they looked like seats out of a Camaro but not sure

Re: Back in the game with my 85 sb!

Got the rear brakes done and started cleaning up the fronts and decided I needed to replace the upper and lower control arms and all of the steering components. Can anyone ID these spindles, they look like Western Chassis or DJM?

Pulled the bed today and noticed the PO welded in the notches incorrectly. More things to fix and clean up!

Re: Back in the game with my 85 sb!

Just a small update as I have been helping m dad with his 90 stepside. Cut the old C notches off because they were installed backwards. First pic is how the PO had installed them, he welded them on as well. Also Picked up an aftermarket front grill and have been "making fit properly" until I find a clean factory one.

Re: Back in the game with my 85 sb!

After a long delay I am back on the C10.

I tagged it a few weeks ago and have been working on it when I have time. Swapped out the bucket seat for a bench, installed a tilt steering column from a 91 Suburban with the delay wiper module and just started replacing the interior. New dash, door panels with accessories, new weather stripping for the windows and vent windows with new handles.

Ordered the weather stripping from Rubber the right way. LMC for everything else.

Re: Back in the game with my 85 sb!

Thanks guys! I also forgot to mention the cowl hood and I also took a cup brush and a wire wheel to the rear frame before putting the bed back on. I used oil based Rustoleum,

Good progress. Very interesting that the previous owner mounted the c notch brackets with the structure outboard.

Glad to see you bringing this thing back to a better look. I cannot imagine how they thought those notches were supposed to be like that lol.
