Lowering the rear Question

I have a '68 with coil springs. The front looks like its a 2.5" spindle drop. The back has 3" blocks in it. This is the way I bought the truck. I am guessing it still has stock coils in the back and it has stock shock mounting positions. So I would like to get the back down another 3". I appreciate any suggestions

Go with 5" lowering springs and 2"lowering blocks. Also you'll need lowering shocks and a shock relocating kit. Oh and you'll also need an adjustable panhard bar and brackets. CPP sells everything you need, I used their stuff and amy happy with it.

Re: Lowering the rear Question

Are you going lower in the front, or staying as is with the spindles?

Any specific shock or does CPP have ones designed for it lowered?

Re: Lowering the rear Question

Since you're staying with just the spindles, I would do a 5" spring, shocks, shock relocator kit, and adjustable panhard bar. Shop around, several vendors carry this stuff.

Re: Lowering the rear Question

I ordered my stuff through Performance Online. They had really good prices on everything. Even had kits already made up for specific drops that included the lowering shocks.

If ordering CPP stuff, go through Summit Racing. Free shipping and their customer service is way better than CPP.

I had an issue with a CPP order a while back that I got through Summit, and Summit rode their a$$ for a week and made it right for me.

Should I still use the 3" lowering blocks?

Re: Lowering the rear Question

I personally wouldn't. I think the 2.5"/5" drop will not only look good, but it should be nice and level. Adding the 3" blocks will likely give you a rake with the rear lower than the front. Start with just the springs and see what you think.
