Old screw driver, wire wheel on side grinder, whatever will work to get it out.

I was going to recommend trying that. Mine mostly came out just by using a screwdriver, cleaned up the rest with a flat wire wheel.

Re: Remove body sealer around roof drip rail ?

I just did my driver's side with a wire wheel on one of my 4.5" grinders. Once I replace the drip rail I'll be sealing it. I have some brush on sealer, but I may do the self leveling stuff. I haven't decided yet. Make sure you check and paint it before you add the sealer. I am doing some Eastwood on mine. My friend used POR.

3M Self-Leveling Seam Sealer, 08307, Two-Part, Quick-Curing Epoxy is a great product and will look great. Will have the issue on how to do the rail where it curves down at the back. However, at $45 it is also the most expensive option.

Maybe this is another option, 3M Dynatron Auto Seam Sealer Caulk, 550, Grey Color, Permanently Elastic, Fast-Skinning, Non-Staining, Non-Sagging, 12 oz
It is only $15 and will not have issues on the not so flat areas.

I wish GM would have used Epoxy when the trucks were new. Would have saved a lot of headaches down the road.

Do you know what they actually did use? I always wondered if the dynatron 550 I use will end up looking like the factory stuff after 10-15 years in the CA sun...

I used a wire wheel on a grinder, came right out and got the rust out at the same time.

If you are going to do paint on truck then heat will really help take it out. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the cleanup with a wire wheel then wipe down with acetone.
