Hi from PA

Hi,

This is Walt from Pittsburgh. I recently bought a 1967 K10 and I am in the process of a partial restoration and hopefully having the truck on the road soon. The truck will keep the original patina, but its getting new motor as well as brakes, lines, weatherstrip, interior, lenses..... and so on.

Welcome! I like your truck just the way it is. Finish those mechanical upgrades and enjoy!

Re: Hi from PA

Thanks. The truck is all original (except for the wheels). It is very solid. Only need some rocker and outer floor repair. 283 with SM420/ T221. The 283 is shot, building a 350 for it. I have to rebuild the transmission. The output shaft is gone where it goes into the coupler. Hopefully I can find the parts.

What are you using for overdrive?

I've got the optional, Borg Warner 3 speed manual overdrive trans. There's a sun and planet gearset in the tail shaft that is activated by some electrical stuff. Works great for a cruiser type vehicle, but not great for any heavy towing.

Re: Hi from PA

Nice grab on that truck. It is right at the point where it needs somebody to take care of it so it doesn't go into deterioration. And your plan sounds like you are all ready to do it. Welcome to the forum.
