Saw a truck at a cruise in this evening....

Pretty cool. I went to a cruise in, and among all the typical Camaros, Rustangs, Rubber Maid (Corvettes) and assorted crazy painted Mopars, there was ONE truck of our years.
This thing was pretty cool. Spoke to the owner (he also was invited to the board) he has owned it for 12 years I think he said, anmd did all the tin work himself. He did a pretty good job too IMHO..

Here is the '67 sshort/step/chop top. Awsome and countles mods.(that's the owner standing behind it)

If I was smart, I woulda asked what these seats were out of.

Here is the heart of the whole thing, a fairly stock 454 out of a late model daulie. It is hooked up to a T-5 (!!!!?????!!!!!) 5 speed that is holding up, then into a 4.56 geard rear and out to a set of not very sticky super wide tires. He says that the 5 speed keeps his freeway cruising at a sane level, even with the crazy gears.
The funny part is, someone in thae parking lot was foaming at the mouth looking at my rig and said I should put it on display in the cruise in. They did have some "work in progres" rides...but mine woulda won the beater of the year award. (if there is such a thing)

Sorry, I dunno the drop, but the top was chopped 3 inches though.
I can say it was a rather impressive drop.
Interestingly too, he has leafs in the back.
I hope he comes on here. He said he's check it all out.

Pretty sweet truck....but i thought a T5 was a weak tranny. I posted on here wondering if one would hold up behind my 300 hp 350 and everyone said no. Suprising that BBC hasn't shred it to pieces, lol.

I know, as soon as he said T-5 I was like "WTF???"
He saids he has no traction at all, and figures the tire slippage is the only thing saving that tranny.
It is NOT a daily driver, only on weekends...sunny ones at that.
He is aware of the reputation these trannys have.

Those seats look just like the ones sitting in our bedroom. The ones I have are outta my wifes 94 GMC conversion van. They are made by a company called FOREMOST. Very comfy and my wife won't let me have a couple for my 67. She don't need all 4, her butt ain't that big!

Boy if she was to see that I even mentioned her butt she'd kick my a$$ so bad. WWOOOOOOOOOO!

Don't get me wrong...That truck is DAMMMNNNNN nice...but, on some of our trucks i have noticed that they some of them look bent in the middle including this one. If you look at the rear of the cab with the front of the bed on the first pic, they arent level...why is thi???? Please don't get me wrong that is one bad ass truck..

They are supposed to be a little stronger.
