WTT my 5 lug 373 rear for.....

I have a 71 or 72 5 lug 3.73 non posi rear end under my truck. All new brakes and wheel cylinders, good gearset, fresh synthetic lube, chrome cover, the works...

I want a 3.08 rear end. This 454 is absolutely killing me on mileage. I need a 5 lugger or would consider a 6 lug if close by DFW area. Must be 3.08 ratio though.

I got a 308 from a 78. Axle saddles need to be welded on.

How can I tell what ratio is in mine? I have a 5 lug in my truck I'll trade if it's what you need.

I checked the gears and the spider gears are toast.
Sorry,

Matts rear end didn't work out.

I've sent Pms to Ernie and the guy in Austin.

Also, Ratrod, we need to talk. Did you figure out how to check your ratio? You're real close to where I am.

Still actively looking, I have money or trade of mine. Let me know everybody.

No, not yet. Your welcome to stop by and drive the truck. Maybe Matt67350 can tell you which one it is. I got it from him. I'd like to trade if possible. I'd rather have a deeper ratio if possible. My cell is 682-472-2286

Would you consider just selling the rear end - if so, how much...? I'm also in Austin, so not too bad a drive...

DriverDown, not really, I need a rear for this truck. If I wind up buying one, I would be willing to sell this one after putting the new one in.

BtnkBndt, maybe, I want to see if I can work a deal on a whole rear end that's already assembled and set up. It that fails, then yes, I'd be very intersted.

Tx, Firefighter.
Is that for coil springs?
Come over and help me switch them out and you can have my 3.08 open rear. Or I'll come to you. (you probably have a better work space anyway)

70 402

do any of you guys have a rear end that's pulled out? I'm right in the middle of working full time at the FD, building a new house, and running a landscape business.

I could easily deliver mine and pick yours up, but I'd have a hard time finding time or place to do the swap. My shop is full of lawnmowers and trailers. I'd be able to let you check mine out before I pulled it, but I'm going to have to tear my truck down at my in-law's shop. There's no easy way for us to park the trucks next to each other and swap them out.

I have one already out.

I have one in my garage. I believe it to be a 3:08. It's a 6 lug. It's been blasted already. I'll get the numbers off of it if you want to look it up to verify the gear ratio.

ratrod, I got ya. I'd want to come over and take a look at it first. I could drive my truck so you could see mine while I was there.

Did you check to make sure it's a 308?

I'm pretty busy lately, but maybe meet up Saturday?

I need to figure if it's a 3:08 or not. I was told it was but I want to be 100% sure. I work 3rd shift so my days are free. We can meet up at your convenience.

Mine will be out when I come up to trade. For me it would be a pull up and unload mine fom the back of the 4-Runner and load up yours back into the 4-Runner and were off.
