A/C problems

My A/C doesn't blow threw the vents like it should, sounds like it's blowing out every where when you turn the fan on high. When I first got the truck, 94 K1500, I had to replace the blend door motor, one below the glove box that is a major pain, don't guess I could have screwed that up, I was in a big hurry. Any ideas? I've got to get some time to fix a few little problems like this.

Re: A/C problems

It sounds like maybe the mode door actuator isn't functioning right.

Ah not just an AC problem

So first thing to do is actually feel with your hand if it's coming out the other vents like windshield and floor. Most vehicles default to the air coming out at the windshield and floor if there is a failure of one sort or another so you can drive in cold weather.

If it is coming out other vents when the control is set for dash face level vents, you obviously have to see why. Could be controller, wiring, blend door motor or blend door.

If it's not coming out of any vents no matter what it's set for, there is even more reasons that it's not. Start at the motor and see if there is a blockage or a duct slipped off. Also see if there is anywhere the air is coming out other than vents.

Re: A/C problems

A/C blows a little out the vent and the defrost. Blend door is working, I removed the bottom plastic and stuck my hand in there and felt it close and open correctly. Controls seem to work fine. Got a leak some where, I can charge it and the next day it has done leaked out. Can't see any oil any where. Compressor stays engaged all the time so apparently it has welded itself together and taken the front seal out of it. Funny thing is, is that it's not noisey.

Check for blockage in fan area. Might have a mouse?

First you said no air coming out of vents, now you say you charge it and it goes down.

So do you have 2 different problems? One is airflow and the other is cooling?

I think it's time for you have a professional look at it.
