spark question

my BB 402 has the original points dist. that I am going to replace with HEI as soon as I can.Years ago i bought a used car that had a problem, it was only getting about 75% of the needed spark due to the coil wires being reversed and causing reversed polarity on the dist.. When I bought this truck I noticed a little custom wiring . What is an easy method of testing for the proper amount of spark at the plugs. It is running fine , isnt missing, back firing , or smoking.just wanted do do a check on the system
