Engine tuning software

So I just got the 6.0LS up and running. I used the PSI Conversions harness and computer- now I want the ability to tune it myself as I change intakes and cam. What software should I use?

Re: Engine tuning software

The only 2 I know are EFI live and HP tuners. I believe the majority of the people use HP tuners. I believe there is the ability for additional tuning with EFI live.

Re: Engine tuning software

I have HP Tuners. It works pretty good. I will say that it is much easier and probably less expensive to take it to a tuner and have it done. I have no idea what you plan to do, but once it is tuned, you really don't have a use for the software unless you are constantly going to be making engine changes. Depending on if the engine is a Gen 3 or Gen 4, there is also a pretty hefty learning curve. Gen 3 isn't bad, but Gen 4 computers started using a lot of algorithms to manipulate data instead of just plugging numbers into a table.

If you do buy a version of HP Tuners, you can usually find a used version with credits left. The new versions are getting criticized quite heavily as the EPA is taking its toll on the software and guys are finding out things have disappeared and/or not adjustable.
