You guys are going to hate me

because i got the deal of a lifetime. I "happened" onto a 72 truck today, and upon closer inspection, it was a cheyenne super and also a factory big block / th 400 truck. I finally found the owner, and asked him if he wanted to sell it, and he said yes. He told me that he wanted $300, but, being a guy who likes to deal, i offered him $150, thinking that we would end up in the middle, but he said ok, and i took it home. Did i mention that it has a factory tilt, and factory tach dash? In an hour, i had it running and it drives really well, considering that it hasn't been on the road since 2001.

i'll try to post some pictures, if it ever stops raining.

Where was this guy that he didn't know the value of the truck? Let me guess he sold it with a bill of sale and didn't have the keys, but could hotwire it for ya, right

you're right, it was in a funny location, so i really didn't get a good look at the interior, and when talking to him on the phone, he told me that "it has tilt wheel, which is worth a little" and then sold the truck super cheap, i don't understand some people.

But wait, it took an hour to get it running....after you towed it home, or did you get it running there and drive it away from his place? And what did it take to it to make it fire up?????

i thought about doing it in his back yard, but he had a couple "friendly" dogs that prevented me from looking at it real close with out him there, so i towed it home, put in some new gas, slapped in a fresh battery, dumped gas down the carb, and.... nothing, but once before, i had a similar problem, it ended up being the ignition module in the HEI, so i had an old dist laying around, and that did the trick. You should have seen the guys face when i met him on the road driving the truck that he sold me DOA just an hour before.
