I have a full set of replacement seat belts on order and I doubt that I can get the old ones out and the new ones in without removing the stock bench seat. With that being said, every time I try to do something on the truck it turns out to be harder than I anticipate - I already anticipate the task to be a pain.

Are there any tricks to removing the bench seat?

Remove bolts. Remove seat. Very easy and straight forward. May need PB blaster or some other penetrating oil to remove the seatbelt bolts, they can be a pita sometimes.

Band aid and a shot of jack incase you bust a knuckle... actually the shot of jack has multiple uses... you may want it for after you remove the seat for a job well done.

Should be no problem, go out the passenger side with it though! I live in the Round Rock!

Boy can I relate to that! Everything I do ends up being way harder than I expect. But I have replaced the seat belts in mine and agree with what LeddZepp said. It's just a matter of unbolting the seat bolts and then the seat belt bolts. And he is exactly right, they must have used Loc-Tite on the seat belt bolts because they were a mofo to get out. I used a breaker bar on them and it was a battle right up until the last thread on each bolt. I followed their lead and used Loc-Tite when installing the new bolts.

Might want someone else there for the removal, as not to mangle the paint dragging it out. What zepp said, squirt the bolts ahead of time, shouldn't be an issue.

There are a few other trucks around here, but I don't think I have seen yours around.

My only tip, is that if you have nice paint, pull some towels out of the closet and wrap the frame bottoms with them, keeps the sharp metal corners from gouging anything on the way out.

I agree.... wrap the frames to keep from scratching the paint, and a set of extra hands make it a lot easier to handle going out and then back in.

no real need to remove the seat from the cab unless you are of the very rotund variety

It will help to have a helper to pull the seat thru the cab, one on each end, although i have done it myself a number of times on a lifted truck, its a pita for me being 5'7" tall.

The only thing I have done to my truck (so far) where I needed help was when I removed the bench seat.

I unbolted it, saved the bolts in a container, and had a friend get it from the passenger side as I got it from the driver's side. The seat belt bolts came out easily although I did lose a gas tank bolt head when I was removing that but no biggie. If that happens with the seat belt bolts just message us, you'll be in need of an extration or new bolt head.

I might would take pictures of the way the seat belts overlap each other under the bolt is all.

Make sure the seat is all the way forward so the seat track does not become a high speed knife when your knee hits the seat lever while removing said seat! Ouch!

I find that a strong teenage boy on one end of the seat works best...he just folds his body in half at the waist and walks through the cab carrying his end while I back up with my end.

In case the bolts are tight, hit them with some penetrating oil. It really is straight forward.

Oh yea unbolt the front ones with the seat back then slide it forward and remove the rear bolts.

Not to hijack this thread but this weekend I am installing a stock bench seat and gettin rid of the buckets so i'll just do most of the above in reverse order.

How did that go as I need to do the same but mine is now covered by bee with carpet so I have no idea where original seat went

If you would like an extra set of hands I'm not that far away at Lake Travis and don't mind helping out. I am going to the C10 Nationals this Saturday but should be available on Sunday
