Barn Door Pop-outs

I apologize to anyone on here that this 'Burb belongs to, but I had to steal this pic! Has anyone else put pop-out glass on their barn doors???
I've been wanting to do this to mine. Any help would be appreciated.
This thing is NICE BTW...notice the tail lights...

I've thought of this for mine since I bought it. I don't have a 3rd row seat, and my dogs will be riding in the back. I'd like some ventilation for 'em.

I dont do facebook and no barn doors here at home to look. Are those the stock openings or van openings welded in?

Yes. The guy just said he had to get tampered glass made to a pattern with the holes for the hinges and latches.

Re: Barn Door Pop-outs

I had pop out windows on a van years ago, and when I opened them it sucked exhaust fumes.

Re: Barn Door Pop-outs

It seems that the exhaust would be a very likely problem since a big rig like that leaves a lot of swirling air in its wake. If you are still wanting to do it, it looks to me like you could get the mechanism from an 88 to 98 truck with an extended cab. The side windows have hinges and latches. I think some minivans have side windows that pop out as well.

Re: Barn Door Pop-outs

Ive had a couple of Astro Vans, both with pop out barn door windows. Zero problems with exhaust coming in. My guess is because the exhaust doesn't exit exactly out the rear, more to the side a little.
