1967 fuse block to firewall connection
I’m working on my 67 and here lately it’s been starting fine then losing everything then back to starting fine again. My issue is coming from where the harness from the engine connect to the back of the fuse block. If the red power wire is sitting right I get juice but lose it sometimes as soon as I turn the key. I have several parts trucks I can splice the connector on to see if that does it but I was curious if anyone has done it before and it completely solve their problem. I’d like to only have to do it once. Let me know how you fixed it, thanks

Re: 1967 fuse block to firewall connection
I'm not sure I understand your problem. Are you saying that sometimes you lose power to the fuse block from the battery?

Re: 1967 fuse block to firewall connection
Years ago Ive come across a badly corroded terminal on the main power wire on the fuse block/harness connection on the firewall of one of my 67's. Basically corroded the spade(forget the correct name of this one) rite off the wire
I would intermittently lose power in the cab, iirc I had power everywhere else. There's some tar like sealer sealing the terminals that helps but certainly didn't prevent. Luckily I just pulled a good wire and terminal from another harness I had laying around.

Re: 1967 fuse block to firewall connection
Just to save you a search because I replaced some of the connectors/wires coming out of that connector/fuse panel on the firewall (if you think that is where your problem is)...they are "56 Series" connectors/terminals. You can get them on amazon.

Unbolt the underhood harnesses from the fuseblock with a 7/16 socket and check the terminals. They might need to be cleaned.
