Cigarette Lighter Replacement
I am in a bit of a quandary on what to do with my cigarette lighter opening in my dash. The old lighter did not have the element or wiring, just a crusty old female section that I removed and tossed a few years ago.
After reading the thread on the dual USB charger install I ordered one and was all happy about installing it. Figured I would need a charger way before I'd ever need a lighter. Now that I am to the point of installing I am hesitating on opening the hole in my dash from about 24MM to 28mm for the USB. Other than two holes that once held a CB mike my dash is in great condition. Am I overthinking this?

Re: Cigarette Lighter Replacement
It depends.
What is the rest of your truck like? What is your goal for your truck? How long are you going to keep it? I drove mine for years with no radio, just the pristine stock holes for the radio that disappeared long before I ever got it. Finally, one day I grabbed the jig saw, cut the dash and installed a Cd/radio. I put 6x9's in the doors too, sue me. Some might say it's blasphemy but my truck is never going to be "concourse" material. I have tunes, and I don't loose any sleep.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Replacement
I won't cut my dash.
I used this socket. It was a perfect fit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
