Need some help with setting up A/C system
I am trying to gather up the parts i will need to build my truck, just a quick question about the factory A/C. I am going to be using a 350 vortec from a 98 chev truck since i don't have the factory a/c compressor from my 1970 i will use the one from the 98. All of the of the a/c components are still on the 70, what parts will i have to change to use the new style 134 compresser with the old system?

As long as you flush the system to clean out the old R12 oil you can make it work.
Evpe. core you can definitly use again. Condensor- I am useing a stock replacement condensor and it cools fine. But I have just converted over and I havn't really seen any truely hot weather here(California coast).I hear a new style "parallel flow" condensor should be used for max. cooling.

rage'nrat638, your setup looks nice. Could we get more details on your AC?
Did you replace hoses? O-rings? Did you replace the dryer? Did you just evacuate and recharge with R134a? Or flush? |
