Seat Interchange

Do all square body benches have the same mounting brackets?

I am due to drop off the seat from my 86 for reupholstery and found a local guy that will let me borrow a seat from his 76 project truck to use so I can keep driving my truck.

I'm hoping to just unbolt my seat and have this one drop right in.

All 73-87 seats will bolt right into the cab.
There are 3 different tracks
73-76
77-80
81-87
But that only means the the tracks have to match the corresponding seat frame. The tracks can not be swapped to other frames.
But again. All the 73-87 seats will bolt directly to the cab floors. So your fine. Take your seat out for the upholstery guy, and drop the other seat in for the time being.

Re: Seat Interchange

Just hope your upholstery guy takes care of your frame also. I restore seats myself. But when I do seats, the entire frame, tracks and all the hardware is restored also. The spring & grid gets tightened. I repair anything that is wrong with the frame. I find alot of cracks in the frames.
I have a thread going for restoring the seats, its on my Signature there at the bottom. I could have done one for you and shipped it to you.
