Re: 'Morning Glory' 1971 C10 Stepside

Your truck is looking great. You had mentioned a few things in regards to redoing it, so I thought I would post a few pictures of what I'm doing to mine. You may or may not like them. Hidden hinges, no chains, relocation of gas tank, hold down bolts hidden.

Re: 'Morning Glory' 1971 C10 Stepside

OLD51SEDAN gorgeous truck..... thanks for the pics. I'm in the process of redoing the Bed now. I just got a new from panel. Now I'm seriously think of replacing both side panels and the rear fenders. Then of course the tail gate.

I replaced the chains already, and I'm waiting on the parts I ordered to relocate the gas tank.

It never ends does it ?

Re: 'Morning Glory' 1971 C10 Stepside

Finally got started removing the gas tank from the cab. Rust proofed then my wife added sound deadener, and a carpet remnant.

Re: 'Morning Glory' 1971 C10 Stepside

On deciding to relocate the gas tank, I found the old bed was in rougher shape than I thought, so that ignited removal of the old bed and ordering all new replacement bed panels and of course new bedwood. The bedwood is Ash we got from Bedwood and parts and stained Miniwax 'Gunstock'

Looks like the same tank I used, just a hint I used transmission vents on my tank, worked great. I also hid the bolts that hold the box on as you can see in the previous post. Where are you going to put the gas fill at. Mine I put on the inside with a cap that allows you to put the nozzle right through it. All of this is hidden behind the fender. Your doing a great job, enjoy the pictures.

Re: 'Morning Glory' 1971 C10 Stepside

Well, I'm Baaaaack..... I nearly decided to sell the '71, but after pulling the truck out of the garage and looking her over real good, I'm changing her name and keeping her. Going to finish up a few incomplete projects.... cab corners, rockers and passenger side front fender. Good to be back

Love the Mirrors, it's an obvious change that people really notice. Her new name is Marlene
