Golden Aniversary ??

I have found a truck which I think could be a 50th aniversary truck but there is no build sheet and the truck was recently broken into and the glovebox door was taken before I got the information from it. My question is, Is there any other way to tell if its a 50th edition? Thanks

John

First, is it a 68 Chevy? Does it have gold paint with white top and below the trim. Does it have gold and white interior?

Should look like this one.

You are just the guy I was hoping would see this post.I appreciate the information that I have seen you give others in the past. In answer to your questions, yes its a 1968 K10 Suburban.Gold with a white top. There is no white below the low chrome strip. I noticed that you helped a fellow with a 3/4 ton burb last week.I couldnt make out if there was white below the chrome on his truck. I have been interested in the truck for a couple of months and just last week it was vandelized for the inside heater box and the glovebox door is missing I think. He's gonna look to see if they tossed it into the back of the truck, but he believes its gone too.Havnt gotten pics of the interior yet but I could call if I knew what to ask. Pics are on the way.I do know that the inside is finished with a perforated headliner and vynal panels all the way to the rear, like my "Custom Cab". Is there anything in the vincode? Thanks!

John

P.S. Didnt I notice a fabric interior in yours?

Ok the burbs are a little different. They will still be gold and white, but no white below the trim. The interior will be fawn instead of gold and white. It also should be a "Custom".

Yes, I have cloth fawn interior.

There is also another board member who just found a C-20 Anniversary truck. He might decide to part it. Clcik Here.

I forgot, nothing in the VIN will tell you it is a 50th.

John, if you decide to pass on the one you showed me, please let me know. I might be interested. That is a damn good find if it all works out for you!

Any pic's or thoughts of how the 68 panel 50th would have been done?
White on just the roof or the side panels(window area on sub) also

I have never seen one, but I am pretty sure it would have the same paint as the burb. The window area would be painted gold.

I can post a pic of it, but I want to wait until John says it is ok to do. He is negotiating to purchase the truck, and I don't want to do anything that he is uncomfortable with.

Christopher
Here I thought I was looking to buy something at a deal price because I figured the seller didnt know what he had. I called him today and low and behold, he is well aware of the fact its an anniversary edition, as a matter of fact his friend is driving a gold pickup. Now that the truck has been vandelized, I'm going to try to negotiate the price.,but I'm afraid that if there is no longer any documentation, should the glovebox door be missing, it sounds like its just a gold and white "Custom",right? Shame if thats true,no rust anywhere but two small holes behind the rear tires.Even the plywood is in mint condition.I'll be happy to post the truck sale information on the board for anyone interested if the sale falls through.I'm having him check inside the seat for a build sheet.

He has a much nicer, and level lift on it since these pictures were taken. I think the white wagon wheels are gone too.
