New Speedhut gauges

Finally, gonna get some real gauges. Installing them in OEM pod & bezel.

So far so good!

Looking good.

Do they pop right in and the factory plug works?

Or did you have to rewire them?

No, I had to enlarge the holes and will need to re-wire.
I used the metal pod from an earlier model truck.

I did this below only used different gauges.

I just bought individual gauges from Speedhut and installed them in the oem pod. They are made to order and you can get some customization if you like. I opted for none.

Their prices are listed on website and the speedo includes GPS receiver. Around 1k pricewise. Lifetime guarantee!

Re: New Speedhut gauges

OK I think I am finally getting about done with fitting the Speedhut gauges in stock locations.

After taking a new $$ aftermarket gauge panel and carefully cutting and filing down the gauge holes on the backside so they would fit flush, it is looking ok.

Here is a picture.
Hard to tell from pic but they are sitting in the stock green gauge pod along with a metal piece pictured above that I painted black.
It will attach like factory gauges using stock screws.

The wiring harness that comes with kit allows up to 8 to be connected together which is nice!

Re: New Speedhut gauges

Also thinking about putting these in stock turn signal holes along with a brake and idiot alt light so it will charge properly. (I am aware of doing it with resistor also)

Speed hut has turn signals in speedo so I am still on the fence.
Of course, for the brake and alt I would have to drill small holes in gauge panel.

These are Alpinetech indicators and they would look nice in stock turn signal locations.
I test fitted them in an old panel and recessed them like stock after drilling out the inside but attaching them securely is another issue I am trying to figure out.

Those alpine tech indicators would look great in my opinion.

Nice job on fitting the gauges!

Re: New Speedhut gauges

I thought a GPS speedo would be good for me and maybe a matching tach until I looked at the price. 450.00 just for a speedo, that,s about 800.00 Canadian by he time I get it here. Guess I will stick with what I have.

To be fair, other manufacturers (Autometer for one) do not include the GPS module. They charge $240 just for the module alone.

Re: New Speedhut gauges

Can't wait to install these along with my NOS dash pad courtesy of Captkaos from many years ago. It's still in the box.

I thought $500 (or was it 400? I forgot) was a lot then, but my have the prices jumped since.

Stock was 85 mph which was too low to begin with and although I don't plan on ever doing 160, it's nice to have that option for later or if I move to Germany.
