GMC hubcap identification

Moving some stuff around and came across my stash of GMC hubcaps. The ones on the right came off of a 1974 truck. The ones on the left came off of a 1982 truck. I am trying to find out the correct years for each set. These are all the larger hubcaps (3/4, 1 ton), but I don't believe that makes any difference. Thanks in advance. Unfortunately I don't have a complete set of either one.

The front-hub hole diameter varies between a d44/10-bolt (3/4-ton) and a d60 (1-ton) axle. I can't say which one those are, though.

There were also large-hub d44 axles back in the day, but I don't know much about those.

The front caps look like 3/4 ton. Here's 1 ton.

I have the 3/4 ton caps on my 84 Sierra. I think they used them through the 73-87 models

That was part of my confusion. According to the link, they did not start with the "new" style hubcaps until 1976. The 1973-1975 stayed the same as the earlier style.

The 69-72 GMC 3/4 caps the center hub area was inverted out and painted black with the orange GMC letters.
Then on the 73-76, same style hubcap but the center hub is not inverted and painted like yours with unpainted hub center with orange GMC letters. Then in late 1976 they went with the more flat version aluminum cap. Paint wise this was true on both the 1/2 and 3/4 ton style hubcaps which are different diameters about 10" and 12 ".

To answer your question, the 3 caps the left with the open caps are 1977 up to 1991 square body and the 3 full caps on right are technically 1973-76 GMC.

On another subject with these caps, does anyone know if they can be polished, buffed or whatever? I have one that is i good shape and still shiny, but the 0ther 3 or hazy, and white colored. I tried steel wool(0000)on them with no luck. I will have to replace at least 2 eventually since someone used one as a bb gun target, and the other is pushed in in the center.
