Headers for a c10
Have 72 c10 2wd. Putting in a 383. I got a proform starter high torque but now the stater body hits my headers. Is there headers out the there that will work? Trying to avoid heating up the spot and pounding them in to get the clearance.

Re: Headers for a c10
Beat up the tube. Have you seen the video where the guys pounded the headers mercilessly up at the block with a sledgehammer and it made no difference in the performance on the dyno? Back in the day, we called those "tuning dings", and never noticed a difference in performance. Those guys proved it. Roadkill Garage, maybe? It's been awhile since I've seen that video. Quite informative.

It is the Roadkill guys, but its their Engine Masters show where they did that. It was pretty cool to see that.

Re: Headers for a c10
I second the Summit long tube headers. I got the stainless version. SUM-G9006-SS

Re: Headers for a c10
Thanks, at least my memory is only half shot! I think I was traumatized, watching good parts get destroyed.

Re: Headers for a c10
On a 383, wouldn't you want 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" for it to breathe?
Which ones would you do for 1 5/8" and 1 3/4"?
