Headliner removal
Quick question.
How does one go about removing the stock headliner? The headliner is going to be replaced so I'm not worried about damage to the stock one. There is no chrome beauty ring around the headliner. (Guess some models had that) Thought about prying down from the holes ware the sun visors mount? TIA

Re: Headliner removal
If it has a stock headliner , it would have had the plastic trim around the panel.

Re: Headliner removal
Ok possibly at one time then. I've owned the truck Since 2001. and its just been a metal headliner with no trim pieces.

Re: Headliner removal
Stock headliner is a vinyl covered board glued to the roof with a plastic chrome trim around it. Not clear on what you have. Also unclear about prying from sunvisors? Headliner had no attachments except glue and trim.

Re: Headliner removal
So on my truck it's just a metal headliner each sunviser driver/pass attach to the the headliner with 3 screws. When sunvisers are removed. There is a hole about big enough for a golf ball to fit in. Looking online I it's called (inner roof panal) guess not the same thing?

Re: Headliner removal
Do a Google search for what a headliner looks like in a 67-72.
There are 0 attachment points on the original headliner, to the sunvisors. It sounds like you may have a custom job or talking about a different vehicle. |

Re: Headliner removal
A pic would help. This is what my new headliner looks like. If there is no headliner listed on your SPID and you don't have a CST or similar equipment, it didn't come from the factory with one.

Re: Headliner removal
You're welcome! Is it rusted or something? The only metals I work are copper and stuff like angle iron or square tube for gates and fences. I stay away from body work at all costs. So, I have no advice, sorry.

Re: Headliner removal
Its metal so just cut it out. It will be a one peice metal roof panel thats spot welded all around the perimeter of the cab. Why do you wanna take it out?

Re: Headliner removal
The center part of the panel is warped.

Re: Headliner removal
If you look at the link http://https://www.cjponyparts.com/c...MaAudpEALw_wcB
I thought the ribbed center section was a headliner. My mistake. On my truck the ribbed section is sagging and warped

Re: Headliner removal
It is alot of work. My metal guy removed both the inner and back at the same time to access the hidden spot welds That join those panels.
