I came across this long ago closed thread from 2004 to 2013, it's over 220 pages long.

It illustrates the shifting trends in the restoration of our 60-66 trucks from
almost 20 years ago, to the present.

Very few LS swaps, 22 inch wheels, or air bagged trucks, in the first few years of this thread.

It was very interesting, as I went through all 220 pages

I suppose it has something to do with them being widely available in previous decades and the prices for them were far more affordable. They were more of a budget project for the "average Joe". Now the up front investment for these pickups is high and I suppose that they have become more of a wealthier man's project, hence the high dollar drive trains and expensive rolling stock. Admittedly, I did not page thru the whole thing, but having been playing with these trucks since they were lined up in self service wrecking yards, I could hardly call a 1960's resto-modded Chevy an "affordable project" today.
