Floor Mat options?
I've searched here, and I keep coming across two options for front floor coverings. One is a full vinyl front mat from Stock Interiors, and the other is the OE style rubber floor mat that's sold at few places (Classic Parts, LMC, others). The OE style looks correct, and has the strips going back along the sill plate to rear edge, but it does not have full coverage under the seats. The vinyl mat has full coverage, but doesn't have the OE "look" or texture. If anyone has installed either of these, what are your thoughts?
Anyone have any other suggestions as far as mats go? I'm not really wanting to go with carpet. Last edited by Toro; 11-15-2022 at 01:53 PM. |

Re: Floor Mat options?
got mine from here---> https://lloydmats.com/
Very happy with the quality. I got the carpet style but they also carry weatherproof ones. They are custom fit for the Blazers. |

Re: Floor Mat options?
Thanks, but I was referring to entire floor covering mats. I'll update original post.

Re: Floor Mat options?
I don't believe blazers had full length to bulkhead, I have a used OE one rolled up but nearly positive it's like the pickup style with the tails.
There are threads on the quality of the repros and I think brother's had the closest to original |

Re: Floor Mat options?
I posted this question years ago with no response I have been looking since June 2013 when I brought my K5 home. New old stock if you can find it?

Re: Floor Mat options?
Mine is still there just cracked in a few places. It goes to the step up to the rear passenger area. The second pic is the rear mat which is also cracked in places. But it has the oe # still visible. I've bought a carpet kit but I am hesitant to install it.

Re: Floor Mat options?
I'll find out on my k5, has front and rear vinyl/rubber floor, but previous owner glued carpeting on top of that, pure mess, I even think he used construction adhesive (dummy).. hopefully this winter I will dig into it. Yours looks nice!!!

Re: Floor Mat options?
I definitely like the look of the rubber OE vs. the vinyl options I’ve seen. I guess the question now is, who’s selling the closest match to the original? And if there is some other material that could be used to fill in the void under the seats.

Re: Floor Mat options?
Here's the other I've found in addition to LMC you posted.
Classic Parts: https://www.classicparts.com/1971-72...ctinfo/39-034/ Brother's used to have a similar mat, but it's no longer listed. And on your factory setup, how far up the footwells does the mat go? I've seen other pictures where if looks like there is a black insulation type material that continues up after the mat stops. Does that sound familiar? Just wondering if I get the mat, what else needs to be underneath it. I think there was some sort of material under the mat from the factory. Thanks so much for the help. |
