Thanks for the suggestion. I am painting the inside the same color as the outside. I like where you taped it off the inside and may do that then sand and buff the hard line. It boils down to which is easier to mask the inside or the outside. Lot of time to thing about it. Steve

Ooohhhh. Gotcha. First time around I painted it orange inside and out, all in one hit. It was not very fun but at least I didn’t spend 5 hours masking that time!

Re: 57 Fleetside C4 build

Update on my project. All of the body panels are in final primer. The cab is left but should not be to bad other than keeping the finished work clean during the process. I add the "V" emblems to the doors as this is now a V8 truck with that 6.0 LS in it. I also dropped off the bench seat off to get it redone in leather. I also ordered the Ididit steering column, Billet specialties "D" shaped steering wheel and the items to install them. I won't get these till the middle of March so order ahead when doing a project. Here are some pics.

Re: 57 Fleetside C4 build

Cleaned up the shop and then moved the cab back over to block and prime for the last time. Have mask off all the finished work first before sanding. Here are a couple of pics of the cab. Steve

Re: 57 Fleetside C4 build

A little update on my project. Have been blocking away on the cab for the last time. I also got the steering wheel that I ordered early in Jan. I was told middle of March but it came early!. The column is still not here yet but not really needed yet but would like to test fit it. Here is a pic of the wheel. Steve

Hi, The measurements I went with were 3" from the outer point of the V to the edge of the door and 3/4" from the body line to the middle point of the V. That is the same measurements on the front fender emblem 3" front fender edge to the front of the emblem and 3/4" from the body line to the lowest part of the emblem. Steve

Re: 57 Fleetside C4 build

Finally everything is in the final primer. My plan is to paint the roof first in the Vanilla shake then paint the inside. After that get the doors back on and get read to paint the outside. Still a long ways off but tat light is getting a little brighter at the end of the tunnel. Here are some pics of the cab on final primer. Steve

Thank you for the V placement info !!
Somehow missed your response back all the way back in February.
Caught back up on your build, great job on your painting skills in your home garage. What type paint single stage? Clear coat / base coat?
Thinking about trying to do it in the home garage also.
Thanks
JT from SC

I used base coat / clear coat. I just clean up everything the best I can. Still got some crap in the paint but will sand and buff most of it out. Steve
