Thanks, Russ! I didn't taper the end, trying to keep the heat down on the coil. I figured with my 600+ lbs over an ECSB V6 rig, the 1/4 wasn't going to be enough.

haha the taper adds the extra! the original coil is flattened on the end but when you cut off the 1/4 it is at like a 60 degree angle to the pocket, tapering lowers it that little bit and in my opinion helps it fit the pocket.

so potato potatto, same diff!

When I first built the truck back in 2017, I had to remove the carrier bearing cross member when I went to a 1-piece driveshaft. Decided it was time to replace it with something to help tie the frame together a little better, and at the same time reduce some flex.



Started with some angle for the frame brackets:







Tubing cut to length and ready to be tacked in place:







Melting it all together:

Painted up and installed:











With it being mounted below the frame, it clears the exhaust and driveshaft with plenty of room to spare. With the 1" height, it also remains above the lowest point on the pickup.
