Factory 8 lug steel wheels

Good Morning, Does anyone know if there were any other color options from the factory for 8 lug steel wheels (81-87) other than white? I have a very original truck that someone put aftermarket wheels on, just wanting to put back to original. The service parts id just shows special wheel covers PA1, which I'm assuming are the dog dish hubcaps?? Thanks

White only.

No other colors were offered.

I think maybe PO1 was the dog dish, and PA1 was the full wheel cover, based on the dually RO5 reference in the attached. I could be wrong, though.

You could always do like they did through the 60's: Color match them to the body. I did that on my old 65 Suburban. I added 5 lug rally style and painted them the Light Green color to match the body, and the trim rings and center caps made them pop.

One of my 1978 trucks is Colonial Yellow with SantaFe Tan two-tone. Since I went from the original 16.5" rims to 1980's 16" I had the rims painted to match the SantaFe Tan. Here in Michigan, most of the white rims need painting after 45 years!

Re: Factory 8 lug steel wheels

A bright white was the only option that I've seen for those 3/4 and 1-ton wheels.

I've seen where someone powder-coated the wheels a dusty-white or very light tan. I like the idea, and will likely do something similar. The wheels won't stand out quite as bright, and won't show dirt as quick, but will still look similar to the stock white appearance.

Re: Factory 8 lug steel wheels

Thank You all, against my better judgement i went with the white, since its correct! I really like the idea of color matching them, had a two tone crew cab done like that, wheels were matched to the center color and looked great. New tires going on the wheels this morning, guess if I can't stand it they will have an extra coat of paint!

Re: Factory 8 lug steel wheels

I have a set of take offs from a 1991 K2500 'burb that are silver/argent. It has the full wheel covers and apparently they didn't want the white rim peeking out past the covers. These were not my personal wheels but the owner had them replaced with aluminum rims immediately after buying the 'burb.

Wonder if this was a post-truck build change? Only Suburban's would have been available with that wheel. as the GMT400's wen to the bump-less style as I recall.
