Converting rear 73 seat to 72
Hey all,
I have a 72 K5, and in need of a rear seat. I came across a 73+ seat that I have, and am wondering if it is possible/if anyone has ever converted the rear 73 mounting to fit a 72? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Converting rear 73 seat to 72
I had a '76 Blazer rear seat that I looked at putting in to my '71 Blazer. None of the seat legs were in the correct location (not sure if '71 seat legs would have fit the '76 rear seat since I didn't have any to try). That combined with the incorrect square shape of the seat back corners spurred me on to finally locate the correct seat.
I think the rear seat legs of the '76 seat lined up with reinforcement under the '71 floor, so I could have drilled new holes and welded nuts in place. The front seat legs of the '76 seat would have required adding reinforcement under the floor in addition to drilling holes since the location was farther forward.
