Another 1967 interior paint question (green)
So I got the Ditzler interior paint code for 67 and carried it to my local O'Reilly's auto and talked to a guy who was referred to me as a guy who had been mixing paint a long time. He did not have any luck matching the medium green poly. I then took my truck to the store and let him shoot a prophet gun on it and still no luck. He called a guy he knows at a PPG location, and after a long talk, came up with a code. He test mixed a small sample and it is pretty close, maybe even a match. However, he said he can only mix this color in a base/clear and not a single stage. Is there anyone out there who has a formula where they have had this color mixed before. As a last resort, I could use the base/clear, but would prefer single. Thanks for any help.

Go to Finishmaster or a professional paint supplier with the truck.

Re: Another 1967 interior paint question (green)
Here is the code used on Otis my Avatar, when I acquired the truck the PO did some things I did not like and had to change and repaint, it was a perfect match. I also, at a later date, had a "Rattle Can" single stage mixed to paint my radio delete plate and it was a perfect match.

I can't help you with the Poly Green.
What I found out on the 67 turquoise interior green, I used a paint code from 1966. It was a perfect match. Hope this helps

The "medium green poly" - as it is called - is definitely turquoise. Did you use a 66 exterior color?

The Referance # She put on the bottle after mixing is 5A-3872490 . I took a picture of it in another thread. I will go search for it.

Re: Another 1967 interior paint question (green)
I just wanted to add that GM had color chip books for every year as the paint colors would be different, you need to find a 1967 specific color code to get the correct one (not just the name). This site will have the resources you need.
The paint store I use would pull out an old three ring binder (for 1967) and find the page for GM 1967 and go from there. Once they had the paint code they could mix it into whatever product I wanted (single stage, base, bedliner, etc.). The fun starts when you realize that you don't have the factory color you thought you did thanks to a respray in the last 50 years. For example, I prefer the later model white for the roof, which is how my truck came to me. The 67 has a very warm (yellow) white from factory. Best I can tell, the roof was done when the truck was new to update the look to the more modern white. |

Re: Another 1967 interior paint question (green)
There is a thread here about the interior paint colors that talks about this.
It covered about that the leftover (Interior Paint) in 1966 was used in the production in 67. Exterior paint not so much. I will keep looking.
