70s 80s Chevy gmc van disc brakes
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has used the spindles and brakes from Chevy van, a friend is taking one to the scrap yard and asked me if I need anything from it. Tia

Re: 70s 80s Chevy gmc van disc brakes
They are the same as long as they are 1/2 ton going on 1/2 ton.
EXCEPT !!! If it is a 73-74 Chevy van it has 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern and uses different rotor and caliper that will not interchange with truck stuff. Effectively the 73-74 chevy van uses the 70-77 Camaro rotor and caliper. works well if you want to use that bolt pattern, but there is no drop spindle for this rotor/caliper. All the ball joints and tie rod use is the same as 1/2 ton pickups.

Depending on the year of that van there might be a lot of parts you can scavenge.
I bought a van for the motor and transmission ( can't remember what year it was ). I used the radiator, window & door handles, arm rests ( very similar to my 67 ones ), ignition switch & door lock guts, tilt column of course, various bolts & fasteners, lots of other little nickel & dime stuff that ended up being handy.
