Re: 69 C20 level front

It's been a while, so I thought I would update this post. Where I ended up with the front end of our truck was this:

Factory big block coils, with the spacers from SpindleSource. That lifted the truck roughly 3 inches up front, and placed the upper bump stops firmly against the control arms. No Bueno!

I then shaved the bumps stops down a bit, which gave me a tiny amount of droop travel, but the ride was still brutally harsh.

At this point I had a couple options. I could reduce the ride height, or I could find a way for additional suspension travel to be found. I absolutely love the stance, so lowering it wasn't even a consideration. As a Band-Aid, I opted for upper ball joint spacers. I found some at X2industries. At this point, the truck is totally drivable, but still a has a bit rougher ride than I like, especially when a tire dips down into a pothole. Luckily, with this combination I was able to get the alignment "almost" back to spec. It drives down the road nice and straight, rides ok for the most part. It handles correctly etc. Ultimately, I am going to go a little farther with this. I am considering upper control arms, or ideally swapping to a later model 8-lug lift spindle. That will require some parts swapping from different years, IF it is even possible.

Here is the truck now. Along with not lowering the truck, we thought we would piss off even more people by adding a patina paint job....haha

Re: 69 C20 level front

I am really curious if anyone has tried this upper control arm/coil setup from X2industries? It's about the ONLY off the shelf option I have seen for these trucks. I am just not sure how well the geometry works. Any info or input is appreciated.

So those spacers are able to place the ball joint below the upper control arm?
