Help I got a draw

On a 04 Avalanche. I have unhooked the neg cable and placed my test light one side on the cable the other to the neg term at the battery. I have unhooked one at a time every single fuse and relay and even the breaker. I also unhooked and unplugged the alt, yet still the test light shines. I rolled down the dimmer[heard that some GM had that as a problem] yet I still have a lit test lamp. Any ideas where to look I'm stumped. This truck has nothing extra added to the electric stuff it is all just a stock Av. Thanks in advance Jim

Re: Help I got a draw

When you say every fuse and relay, you did both fuse boxes?

Re: Help I got a draw

Unplug the computer plug and check again....most computers need a small draw which would account for your light.

Re: Help I got a draw

I suggest using an amp meter or an amp setting on a DVOM. Test lights work great for older cars without modules in them. Not so great with these trucks that have modules that have time delays to turn off.

*If you have RPO CJ2, the HVAC module can take 4-5 hrs to turn off. That is normal

A draw should be 30 milliamps or less after all modules have shut down.
