Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

I ran across an oddball in the Factory Assembly Instruction Manual, which seems to suggest some special nameplate on the sides of the bed. Anyone have any thoughts? I've certainly never seem such a thing, other than the GMC Sierra Grande

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

my guess is since the models called out are 150-250 and 350 it will be specific to Sierra Grande GMC's that received YE9 RPO

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

That's what I figured. That's the Sierra Grande badge you mentioned. The only other badge for a Chevy YE9 would be Longhorn. Z84 GMCs got the Sierra bedside badge. Sierra Grandes came out ahead of Cheyenne Supers

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

The page instructions are in reference to YE9, Cheyenne Super equipment.

Sierra Grande is the GMC version of Cheyenne Super.

CA,KA 150,250, and 350 are GMC, so the plate would be Sierra Grande.

It wouldn't be Longhorn because that option was not available on K trucks which is referenced.

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

Nope, wouldn't be a Sierra Badge, either. Definitely Sierra Grande. I was just giving the OP examples of other bedside badges since he said he only knew of Sierra Grande.

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

Hey! Why did you paint it a Chevelle color? (I remember the story on this truck) Looking good!

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

Sierra Grande preceded the Cheyenne Super by two years. Not the YE9 RPO till '71, though. It was a trim on top of a trim, Z17 on a Z84. That person who ordered that truck knew what they wanted!

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

To whom ever it is, I have re-read and freshened up a bit on the rules yesterday and some more today, and have yet to see any rule being broken by myself letting other members know about a part (linked in a separate on site parts board f/s thread) that we have available to offer. Not sure if you're just having a bad day or what, but can you at the very least direct/enlighten me to the rule being broken here? We all see folks post/add links here daily to parts and products being offered for sale by whomever and wherever being sold by company's and or people that do not support the board one bit and yet these links ride and fly just fine, please advise. Thanks, Mel/Classic Bowties... Your 67-72 site/board supporter, helping with friendly truck and parts info/advice here just about daily since 2006

And... since/if you're still in the deleting a post kinda mood, could you please have a peek at our below linked parts board f/s thread post #2/by spammer ericdiaz offering off site pump equipment sales ten days ago?

Re: Factory Cheyenne Super ornamentation

Mel, could you please go around the site and list all such links as your example to make our job easier? Yes, I'm being smart toward your belligerence. First of all, your chosen way to deal with this is as bad as your decision to post a link for a part for sale in a message board discussion that isn't even discussing the part you linked to. Next, the link you provided comes from a "parts board", which is where such things belong. Sometimes members start a thread in this area asking about locating parts, but not this one. If all you have to contribute to a discussion is posting a part for sale then you have nothing to contribute. To make two attempts to over ride action taken by staff, then post a thread of this nature, basically calling out the staff member who edited your posts, is out of character for this site. Not how things are done here and you should already know that. It's very out of line. If you have anything more to say on this matter, please do so some other way than trashing a fellow member's thread. Thank you

Your first post:
"In regard to the above RPO YE9 Cheyenne Super assy manual page, for any who may be in need or looking, we have part [C] End Gate...."

That's not "in regard" to the discussion. The topic that relates to the YE9 page in assy manual is the Sierra Grande bedside badge. You are the only person to bring up that part you are selling. This is not the parts board and no one was asking, looking, or needing what you linked. Does a new rule have to be written for you or can you now see your post was out of place?
