That is spectacular. It would be fun seeing that restored to like new condition and fixed up on the interior.

The seller is incorrect about it being factory. It was an aftermarket upfit, perhaps through the dealership and perhaps ordered out of the Silver Book. I'd have to check the book and see if that was offered

The passenger side floor modified for entry to rear area says it was a school bus. Then, it's next owner modified into a camper. The same modified roof might have also been done for ambulances as well. But an ambulance would not have that type of windows. More likely an ambulance would be built from a Suburban. Ambulance tops were usually not as high and would not need to be raised all the way to the windshield

Back in the early 90s there was a school bus just like this one still being used on an Indian reservation in White Cloud Kansas. I can't remember the name of the conversation company that built it but they are in the GM silver book.

Paint it yellow again, put bus seats back in it, pale green interior, and have a great time with a bus loada friends!

I think I'd like to see that restored back to it's original state. Would be a huge hit at the shows and cruise-ins

One company was Stageway Coaches who also did crewcabs. But they looked different. I just remember that name

It was a school bus for years and later converted to an RV. There's more pics of paperwork at the link site. "Crugly" Crude and ugly!

Would make an awesome drag racer painted back like a bus with blower out the hood. This one's not funky enough. Not actually a bus

Looks like a suburban panel conversion, I can see suburban barn doors from inside and the rear tail light area has a suburban profile from the side.

Definitely a factory built Panel converted to school bus. The proper name for the doors is Panel Doors. All Panels had them. An option on Suburbans and people started calling them barn doors in recent years. On a Panel they are just rear doors. Notice no passenger side rear door and never had windows. Also, Panel trucks came with only a driver seat. Passenger side was an option. Without the option the passenger side floor has no seat mounting provision. The floor is flat at the seat bracket mount area.

The guy that posted this on Marketplace is a local farmer in Brown County Kansas and this may very well be the truck/bus you seen in White Cloud. Apparently this thing lived in Colorado for a time. I dont know if SPID's were applied to these things? I'd like to have that 327 and 4-speed but I'm already up to my neck in projects around here. I have two 72 C/10's, two 71's a C/30 and a C/50, and brought an 07 3/4 ton Express Van home last night! Here are a few more pics...
