Need help with engine numbers
What's going on everyone? I know that the engine in my 71 has been changed out to a newer engine but I don't know how new - I've looked through the site about engine numbers and where they should be located but the only ones I can come up with is 435 on the front of the block and 638 on the back - does this tell you guys anything? I don't know much about engines, but I know that it has an electronic distributor (cap and rotor) instead of point and condensor.

As i look closer i think that's a 638 on the front also

I think i found 'em - Mirrow shinning down behind the distributor worked - the numbers are K09638 - info i found on that is that it's made in Canada...350...87-95...2 or 4 bolt main...Roller or flat tappet cam one-piece rear seal.
Now to figure out if it's a two or four bolt main and what kinda cam - most likely an easy answer but not for me...lol |
