What aftermarket gas pedal are you using? Any good? Suggestions welcome.

Here's what I have in my 56, 2nd series. The mounting surface on the truck floor had to be alterered with a offset piece (I made) in order for the gas pedal to be inline.

have you modified the firewall and floor area for engine clearance or do you have a stock scenerio? I ask because sometimes the mod has decreased floor space in the accel pedal foot well area. are you looking at drive by wire, solid linkage style or a cable operated set up? a pic of your floor area may help.

I'm using a similar looking pedal and I ended up painting mine black for that exact reason.

I've got a Lokar knockoff that should sit and work like the stock pedal that has the cable on the outside of the firewall.

This being the 240 dollar real deal but I didn't pay near that for the as my dad used to say "almost as good" unit that probably came from Hoffman group.

The main thing well beyond appearance is that the gas pedal has to be comfortable to drive with. It doesn't matter how great looking it is if it gives you cramps in your leg, ankle or foot or is uncomfortable to drive with.

I think I have the pedal out of a 76 Mustang II that I scrapped out in the truck now. That was after a half dozen other pedals over the years one lasting one day before I took it back out and threw it in the trash barrel.

should have mounted it a little higher to allow for the underfelt and carpet but it works great.

blacksheep, that looks REALLY nice. not just the pedals, the whole thing. I like how you have spaced the pedals apart enough to be prctical, and the carpeting turned out like it was factory made. is the centre section a removeable plate for access to the engine area, or just a detail?

Thanks for the kind remarks. I put a lot of effort into the interior so I appreciate when someone notices.

The center piece seemed like the best work around because of all the angles and weird contours where everything converges. It was shaped with a steamer and glued into place, overlapping the raw edge of the main piece of carpet where it was cut to accommodate the hump in the firewall.

There are pictures in my build thread that illustrate how it was done, better than I can explain it.

I have the Lokar Pedal and I want the stock look , so I found if you grind off the nub on the backside of the stock pedal it will slip over the Lokar Pedal perfectly and a couple small screws will secure it to the Lokar pedal.

Here's the pedal I used. It's from Lokar and designed for a C10, but worked great in my application.

I am using the factory GM electronics, steering column, etc. from a mid 2000s Yukon in my 59.
To get the drive by wire gas pedal to fit, I had to weld a bracket to the steering column and attach the pedal there.
