Tilt Column Parts Help?
I have a tilt steering column from a early GM Van
Just wondering how the turn signal cancelling cam Works? Just seems to rotate round in the column without coming in contact with the turn signal switch Am I Missing Something? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Tilt Column Parts Help?
Do you have this turn signal canceling cam? It should install with the tube up. There are a bunch of different Cams out there.

Re: Tilt Column Parts Help?
It's indexed to the steering wheel through the hole for the horn contact. This allows the cancel cam to rotate with the steering wheel.. After the turn is completed and while the steering wheel is returned to the straight-ahead position, the two "nubs" on the cancel cam contact those two circular springs on the turn signal switch. The causes the turn signal switch to return to the off position.
