barn door weather stripping option
Hello All,
I am determined to solve this issue and i think I found something. I have tried three different aftermarket door kits and they all were too stiff and thick. I am now trying Trim-Lok Triangle Rubber Seal – X2123HT-25 EPDM Sponge Rubber Seal. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It looks like it will work well, joints can be glued together using standard weather stripping adhesive. |

Looks good and nice solution. Appreciate you sharing the info and testing it out for the rest of us barn-door Suburban owners.

That looks like the real deal! Thanks for posting!
Let us know how the doors close when you are completed. My biggest frustration with new seals is having to slam the doors.

Re: barn door weather stripping option
Update, It does seal and shuts easily. I am not sure if I am getting 100% contact to the body.
If you are having problems shutting the doors,, the first thing is to replaces the bushings. I thought mine were tight until I removed the hinge. On the work bench I could easily see the slop and when i drove out the old bushing they were shot.. Installed on the truck i thought they were good. I will post some pics when it is complete. |
