Custom trim on 1972 c50

I am in the process of changing my c50 ramp truck from white trim front to chrome bumper and aluminum headlight doors and grill hoops. Does anyone have a picture of original grill for paint purposes? Was paint argent or more silver? I would like a picture of unrestored front. I have white painted west coast mirrors, did custom have silver or stainless? Thanks in advance Pat

Pat, I found three other pictures of better examples but am not allowed to post from my folders. They all have black on that flat area. All are unrestored

Thanks Carolinea Hd, I have seen that truck and I believe Keystone truck museum owns it now, I will be there Saturday for a visit with truck club.Tim, that's what I thought on inserts black where rusty, my truck was brushed on in that area. Can't tell if letters where white? Considering chrome vent glass, although not a custom, would like to be correct. Couldn't find paint code on silver but would like to. Don't forget about photos for Jordan, thanks Pat

You'll love that museum. Haven't forgot about pictures. I have too many files for the cloud, for free anyway. I'll call and see what he suggests. Been hammered with a variety of things pulling me every which way but loose. On the MD Custom grille pics, I get the invalid file thing. No permission to share. I have a very nice original 70-72 light red tandem grain body w/Daytons picture and it's letters are white. It is equipped with the camper/towing mirrors in stainless. I don't believe I've ever seen that before. I have a black original paint one as well and it's letters are also white. Also have another one with original paint, faded red, and the letters are white. I wish I could show them.

I just found and saved some others. I found a '72 brochure with a blue 4wd conversion with red letters. Maybe prettied up for brochure? Let's see about this one, it's a large and might be original paint.... Nope! I think all these came from Purplewave. Did you try searching 72 Chevy C60. I found that red straight on picture that blows up big, but can't share it. The pans look like argent, about same as rallye wheels to me. But could be white to be honest

Here is one that works. Might be same truck

Re: Custom trim on 1972 c50

I have the same question about the headlight doors. I some some that look like they are painted and some not. The paint could fade off, especially a silver, on an original truck this old and some guys might have stripped it off on a well kept pride & joy to give more shine. The picture I found last night looking square at the front and close is the same red grain body with the camper/towing stainless mirrors. It definitely has silver/argent on the headlight doors and grille pans, and white letters. It has the windshield trim and Custom emblem on the door. I see some Customs with that badge and some w/o. Not sure what is an upgrade and what is stock. I always wanted to put a Cheyenne Super interior in a C/40-C/60 and any trim that could work. That would have some guys scratchin' their heads

Is there a way to attach a whole folder? If I knew a way I could post my whole 67-72 C/40+ folder here in one link. I tried copying to Documents, no go. I tried cut & paste, no go.

Just hauled a 67 c50 custom trim home today (1800 miles) if you would like any pics of something specific. 29k original miles, pretty decent shape but been outside since 2017.

Wow the new Shiny looks nice. I'll have duplicate the chrome and argent silver with paint on mine.

Man that front end is nice! I just plan to get it running/stopping and use the dump truck around the farm.

Although, after seeing your front end it makes me want to restore it, haha.
