68 c10 drivers window size

I have been working on this door gap forever. Then I noticed that the measurement at the front was 17 5/8 and at the back of the window was 17-17 1/4. Can anyone tell me what the opening size is for the door windows. It looks like someone may have tried to fix the front of the window. I also noticed that the chrome trim on the vent window does not go all the way from top to bottom. See the picture I have included for better explanation of what is going on.

Re: 68 c10 drivers window size

Judging from your "partial view" picture, it looks like the door is too high.. How is the bottom gap along the rocker panel?? I'm not sure what GM's tolerance is/was for the window opening. The trucks were intended for use as work vehicles, farm trucks, towing jobs, etc.. As such, the fit-and-finish was very lax... The front, measured at a right angle to the top of the door skin to the bottom of the window channel is 17 1/4".. At the rear, again at a right angle to the top of the skin to the point where the downward curve starts is 17".....
