Re: side window channel
Normally the window sash will stop at the window fuzzies. The upper and side channel has mounts built into the door, which should keep the channel from going up to far.

Re: side window channel
When you say "stop at the window fuzzies", do you mean that the top of the sash stops before it enters the fuzzies, or that the top of the sash lines up with the top of the fuzzies? On my truck the top of the sash lines up with the top of the fuzzies.

Re: side window channel
Hmmmmm....let me check when I get home. Do you have the metal lined glass or the non lined? May be a difference.
I have both at home so I can check to see where both line up. I just did my stepside a few months back w/metal lined glass and I believe that the top of the sash stops almost at the top of the fuzzy. But let me verify tonight unless someone else beats me to it.

My 63 fleetside is w/o the metal frame also. I'll look tonight.

Re: side window channel
Bumping because I've got the same question. I just replaced glass and all rubber/beltline strips. I didn't pay attention before because I had no felts; so... does the sash sit up inside the felts when the window is fully closed? Or is it supposed to sit below it?

Re: side window channel
If the problem is the metal frame at the bottom of the glass hitting your new fuzzies stopping the window from going up the last 1/2" or so, this is a common problem. Do a search there are a ton of threads and there are a few different solutions.

Re: side window channel
The metal frame at the bottom (what I call the sash) manages to push up through the fuzzies just fine (a bit tight) and close completely. The top edge of the sash ends up about level with the top of the fuzzies... is that normal?

Re: side window channel
That sounds normal. But nothing is normal when it comes to the belt line fuzzies on these trucks. If I were you I would just be happy if the windows are closing all the way and that when the sash enters the fuzzies the mettle of the door is not being flexing.
