Lower Thermostat Housing Ports
Hello,
My inline 6 has two ports in the lower thermostat housing. I installed water temp sensor in the right port. What is the left port used for? |

Re: Lower Thermostat Housing Ports
The other was probably used for some kind of emission controlled thermal vacuum switch. It looks like the other one broke off, so if you dont need to worry about emissions then it is fine the way it is.

Re: Lower Thermostat Housing Ports
Cool, Thanks. Know what kind of thing was installed there? I'm getting ready to go through emissions for the first time. Like to pass out of the gate. Would it be a TVS I think? I've seen that in the vacuum diagrams. might explain why the EGR valve is capped off.
