Stock Stance?
Hello Chevy truck World, wondering on what your thoughts were regarding stance!
I found the flat-est parking lot space I could find and tested using my digital angle finder. It was within +or- .10 deg to completely flat in multiple places and directions. Using the digital angle finder I checked my door panel where it meets the window and got (.3 Deg.) on both sides. So for pretty much where the door panels meet the window are parallel with the ground. I don't have a stock bed but instead have a flat bed, so that's not much help for reference. What's everyone else's thoughts and angle??? Digital angle finder: Door measurement location: |

Re: Stock Stance?
If we can get some good measurements on stock trucks this could be some useful information. I've searched this site far and wide and have not found much in the way of practical real world measurements on a stock truck. Some always ask "how low is my truck" but we have no good reference to go from. I think a measurement of angle like you asked about, as well as a measurement of the distance between the center of the wheel arch and ground, front and rear.
My truck was stock before I started cutting into it. Unfortunately I did not take any exact measurements, but I believe it had a degree or two rake to the front. The rear arches on these trucks are two inches lower than the fronts and the trucks we set up from the factory with a bit of a rake. That's why most lowering kits are a two inch offset, 3/5, 4/6, etc. The goal with these kits is to "level" the truck so your angle measurement would be a zero. On my truck I set it up with a one inch offset front to rear, so it is in between the stock rake and level.
