Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
That's a bit out of my budget unless I have a winning powerball ticket but you have always built top level chassis pieces.

Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
When this was posted I was part way through an install, now that the install is done I figured I'd give a Sponsor some air time.
This was installed on a 56 Ford F100, this same kit is used on Chevrolet trucks also. A couple of pics are sideways but still tell a story. Interesting, the geometry of the A arms are based on 1978-1981 Camaro. The alignment machine was programmed for the Camaro and alignment was quick and easy. Setting Caster and Camber requires no shims. All adjustments are upper control arm pivot. The large aluminum piece fitted into the main outer sleeve is drilled offset so the long bolt going through the control arm bushings move inward and outward adjusting camber when rotating the aluminum piece. Just sliding the aluminum piece forwards and backwards adjusts caster. then tighten the set screws. Nice sway bar adjustable links also.

Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
nice install, even if you went over to the dark side
my kind of motor mounts too! nice to see static ride, air is nice until it's not working right

Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
True there, Air ride is cool until you blow an airline or a bag.
Rob has been building stuff for AD trucks for as long as I have known about him and that has been quite a while. The one thing I have thought about air bag suspension is that when you park it for a length of time such as in a motel parking lot you can lay it out, blow the tanks and pull the fuse for the pumps and it isn't going to move without a lot of commotion.

Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
Thanks _Ogre, no worries, this is for a customer, I'm still on the lighter side.
The motor mounts, fortunately when I do customers vehicles I take take my time which allows me to do personal touches on the builds. What I've learned is they very much enjoy having one off pieces and parts made as I'm working on their vehicles, and you know me, I very much enjoy making one off pieces and parts. I hope all is well with you, Thanks for checking in.

Re: 47-54 Chevy Front Suspension
I'm on my second No Limit truck built by Delmo. The Jackalope is still riding nice! I had a couple of lower arm ball joints give out and drop me on the a-arm when I owned her, but that's the ball joints fault...
Unfortunately the Kraken managed to crack the front crossmember somehow, and I needed to weld all that up. She also had the right side aluminum adjustment cam come loose somehow and get all chewed up. Both issues repaired and aligned recently, although I don't trust the welded joints for anything more than cruising now )= Bear in mind, this is a 12-year old front crossmember that's seen multiple revisions since then. Whatever you buy now is most likely an improved version and likely reinforced and stronger in these areas.
