Need Help:D29 Tripod Mirror SS

I'm looking for some SS D29 mirrors to replace my beat up painted ones. As far as I can tell no one makes any new ones. Let me know if anyone has any for sale, or any vendors that are selling them.

Re: Need Help:D29 Tripod Mirror SS

Just to make this accurate. The 69-71 7-1/2 x 10-1/2 below eyeline mirrors (three legs) were known as D29 when painted or DG4 if the stainless version. These codes continued but the legs were much shorter on the 72s.

As far as finding a good set try searching through the classisfieds. Posting a WTB ad there might be your best choice. The universal replacements are not even close

Wouldn't that be more expensive? I really don't know.

Re: Need Help:D29 Tripod Mirror SS

Probably. If it's glamor you want, glamor you will most certainly get. It might be easier than finding a nice set of original Stainless, judging by others searching here in the past. If you just want nicer mirrors you could blast yours and paint for a cheap way to go for nice fresh mirrors. if you want to et away from white you could paint a nice argent silver metallic.

An older thread on restoring the mirrors https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...&highlight=dg4
Something missed in this thread is that a SS D29 mirror is a DG4

Re: Need Help:D29 Tripod Mirror SS

Was the original anchoring system to door a jack nut or insert nut? Or was there a simple nut and bolt, or sheet metal screw? Found answer in post # 34 https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...ght=dg4&page=2

I just bought SS sheet metal screws to reinstall my D/29’s. They had nothing like those shown above? Where can you obtain them ?
