I have a set of power 60/40 seats with fold down center console that I am planning to put in my 76' Silverado. The seats came out of a 97' or 98' model chevy truck and are like new. It will not be a simple bolt in because the newer trucks have a flat floor, and the 73 to 87 models have that large hump in the floor under the seats. Your head would be in the roof if you used the brackets off the newer seats.

I found someone on another message board who has done this swap (I believe it's called something like the chevy full size forum). He cut about 3 inches off the new seat brackets and then welded a strip of metal to the brackets to replace the mounts that were cut off. He drilled new holes in the floor and welded in some plate for support with new mounting nuts welded into the plate.

I plan on tackling this job within the next few weeks so I'll let you know how it turns out. I would like to fabricate new brackets to use the orginal mounting locations. But, it may be easier to do it the way this guy on the other forum did it.
