stock speakers suck!

well, i got my speakers after finding them at a neighbors house tonight.

i gotta get a washer for the tweeters though since the hole in the kick panels is a tad bit to big. i just hooked up 1 speaker and it sounded great.

i really need to get an amp for them though.

I put a set of 6x9 sony xplod 3-ways behind the seat in boxes and they sound a million times better than the replacement stock speakers my truck had in it. I want to get some of those Q-Logic kickpanel speakers also and a couple 10" subs behind the seat and a better way to mount my 6x9s.

these jbl's recommend ATLEAST 5 watts going to each speaker.
i figure i'll get an amp that put about 45 watts to each.

Pioneer TS6970R 3 way 6x9s is what I'm packing, and they run off the DEH3500 pioneer head unit with the 22.5RMS 50 Peak to each of them. It sounds good and bass response is excellent, but i definately am getting an amp for my Bday this november, i know them 6x9s got a lot more in them, since they are rated at 40RMS wats and 240 peak watts.

I don't have a cheap headunit per say, its one of those with the mosfet amp and stuff, 52x4 is what its rated at, but we all know thats not RMS. Its a good head unit, I paid 200 bucks for it a few years ago, been good to me since.

be like me, buy a couple of sony 1000w watt amps(yes, 1k watts, put under seat, run 4ga cable to them, and let rip. I have 2 pairs of 3way alpines in the doors, using only 1 amp. the other amp is not currently being used, though installed, going to fab up a sub box/console for it. ouch! I ahrdly ever drive it, but when I do, I wanna enjoy it.

i wouldn't think that a 4 ga wire would be big enough to run a 1000 watt amp
